Simulation

Why a course in Simulation?

Hand calculations are important. However, geometrically complicated and performance sophisticated structures require simulation using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to solve and visualise. You will learn the fundamentals of FEA by making Finite Element models using MSC-Patran FEA.

Patran/Nastran

Patran-Nastran Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used extensively in engineering as a simulation tool to explore the performance of structures under loading. Aircraft interiors and Landing gear are analysed using Patran-Nastran FEA.

Introduction to Patran-Nastran Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Introduction

Patran-Nastran Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used extensively in engineering as a simulation tool to explore the performance of structures under loading. Aircraft interiors and Landing gear are analysed using Patran-Nastran FEA.

The student requires no prior knowledge of FEA. Pragmatically and simply the course introduces the essential process of building Patran FEA models. The student will understand the FEA process by constructing a FEA model and obtain stress and deflection results.
